Materials

• Worsted weight cotton yarn (99 yds/2 oz per ball): 1 ball
• Size 7 (4.5mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
Note: These projects are sized so they can be made from the given number of balls of the ombre shades, which are put up in smaller balls than the solid colors.

Gauge

Cast on 43 sts. Slipping first stitch of every row throughout, work 4 ridges of garter stitch, ending with a WS row.
    Next row: Sl1, knit, increasing 4 sts evenly across. (47 sts)
Begin pattern
    Row 1 (WS): Sl1, k3, place marker, purl to last 4 sts, place marker, k4.
    Row 2: Sl1, *k3, yo, sl next 2 sts as if to k2tog, k1, pass 2 sl sts over k1, yo, rep from * to marker, end k4.
    Rows 3 and 4: Sl1, knit across.
    Rows 5–60: Repeat Rows 1–4.
    Next row: Sl1, knit, dec 4 sts evenly across.
    Work 3 ridges of garter stitch. Knit 1 row (RS), then bind off in knit from the WS. Weave in ends.

Cast on 70 stitches. Slipping first stitch of every row throughout, work 4 ridges of garter stitch, ending with a WS row.
    Next row: Sl1, knit, inc 7 sts evenly across. (77 sts)
Begin pattern
    Row 1 (WS): Sl1, k3, place marker, purl to last 4 sts, place marker, k4.
    Row 2: Sl1, *k3, yo, sl next 2 sts as if to k2tog, k1, pass 2 sl sts over k1, yo, rep from * to marker, end k4.
    Rows 3 and 4: Sl1, knit across.
    Rows 5–60: Repeat Rows 1–4.
    Next row: Sl1, knit, dec 7 sts evenly across.
    Work 3 ridges of garter stitch. Knit 1 row (RS), then bind off in knit from the WS. Weave in ends.
